Swahili version of the Dimensions of Mastery Questionnaire: Adaptation and Psychometric Properties

Introduction. The current focus of empirical studies demonstrates the significance mastery motivation in child development, academic achievement and school success. Consequently, it is critical to have reliable valid tools measure this important variable accurately. Preschool version Dimensions Mastery Questionnaire (DMQ) 18 has been validated English, Hungarian, Chinesem translated many other languages. This opened cross-cultural cross-ethnic among these countries. Method. In study, we evaluate psychometric properties Swahili DMQ 18. Teachers parents evaluated 397 preschool children recruited using a stratified random sampling technique from Kenya's counties. Results. Reliability was established by good internal consistency, construct reliability, test-retest parallel forms reliability values. Factorial validity proven confirmatory factor analysis fitted theoretical model quite well. Discussion Conclusion. for collecting data Kenyan context that East Africa. compared well with versions such as Spanish, Turkish, Persian Indonesian.
